KHULNA, Feb 4, 2021 (BSS) – As part of the countrywide “Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon-2021’, Khulna district and upazila level Marathon will begin here on February 12.
The Marathon will continue on February 13, 26 and 27 in district level while February 19 and 20 in upazila level.
Marking the ‘Mujib Year’, around 10 lakh people are virtually participating in the Marathon across the country.
To make the programme a success a preparatory meeting was held today at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room with DC Md Helal Hossain in the chair.
Organized by Bangladesh Army, district level inauguration ceremony of the Marathon will begin at 8.00am on February 12 at Shibbari intersection in the city.
It will end at Shaheed Hadis Park after parading five kilometers different city roads.
The meeting also urged citizens irrespective of ages for their registration in Marathon and adding the participants will join through an identified apps with giving details information including participants name and e-mail address.
Lieutenant Colonel Md Sazid Imran of 55th infantry Division of Bangladesh Army, Additional District Magistrate Md Yousup Ali, City unit Awami League general secretary MDA Babul Rana, District Live Stock Officer S M Awoal Haque, Khulna Press Club President S M Zahid Hossain, Khulna Journalist Union President Munshi Mahbub Alam Sohag, Additional Superintendent of Police Wasim Firoz, among others, attended the meeting.
