7 submit nominations for mayoral post in Dewanganjmunicipality polls
JAMALPUR, Feb 2, 2021 (BSS) – A total of seven candidates submitted nomination papers for the mayor post of DewanganjMunicipality polls on the last day of submitting nominationtoday.
Assistant Returning Officer and Dewanganj Upazila Election OfficerMd Belal Hossain said seven candidates Farin Hossain(AL), Sadek Akhtar Neaji(BNP),Md Abul Kalam Azad (Ind), Dewan Md Belayet Hossain (Ind), Sheikh Md Nurun Nabi (Ind), Md Harun-or-Rashid(Ind) and incumbent Mayor Md Shah NewanjShahenshah(Ind) submitted the nomination papers.
Besides, 42 candidates submitted nomination papers for 9 ward councilors and 19candidates for 3 women reserved councilor posts.
Md Belal Hossainsaid the scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on February 4 and withdrawal on February 11.
The voting will be held on February 28, he added.
