Sheikh Hasina is main bridge of all bridges: speakers

DHAKA, Jan 23, 2021 (BSS) – Speakers at a programme today said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is the main bridge of all bridges in the country.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the construction of Padma Multipurpose Bridge, they said if she (Sheikh Hasina) survives, many more long bridges will be built in the country along with various development works.

Greater Faridpur Journalists’ Forum (GFJF) arranged “Gratitude to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for construction of Padma Bridge and Reception programme for appointing Shaban Mahmood as minister (press) at Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi” at Jatiya Press Club Auditorium.

The speakers said only Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has proved that she could make visible such magnitude of bridge as she is the worthy daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who is the architect of Bangladesh.

They also said the Prime Minister took the right decision to appoint journalist Shaban Mahmood as minister (press) at Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi.

Chaired by convener of GFJF and senior journalist Jahiduzzaman Faruk, the programme was addressed by Commissioner of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Dr Mozammel Haque Khan as the chief guest and he highlighted successes of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in different socioeconomic fields.

President of Newspaper Owners’ Association of Bangladesh (NOAB) and Former President of FBCCI AK Azad, Housing and Public Works Senior Secretary Shahidullah Khandker and Additional Inspector General of Police SM Ruhul Amin spoke on the occasion as special guests.

Among others, Special Correspondent of Daily Kalerkantha and Joint convener of the Forum Layekuzzaman, senior journalist PR Biswas, former General Secretary of Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) and Deputy Chief Reporter of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo and publication and publicity secretary of Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) Md Asaduzzaman, special correspondent of Daily Observer Shahnaz Begum, senior sports reporter of daily Jugantor Mozammel Haque Chanchal and senior journalist of Channel24 Rajib Khan delivered speeches.

DUJ Organizing Secretary Zihadur Rahman conducted the programme.
