45 BNP activists sued for attacking BCL men in Ctg
CHATTOGRAM, Jan 21, 2021 (BSS) – A case has been filed against 45 BNP leaders and activists, a day after an attack on Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders and activists at Kazir Dwori area in the city.
Besides, 15 to 20 more unidentified people have also been accused in the case.
Mosharaful Haque Chowdhury Pavel, executive member of BCL Chattogram city unit filed the case with Kotwali thana on Thursday.
Confirming the matter, Mohammad Nezam Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali thana told BSS that Pavel filed a case against 45 leaders and activists of BNP for attacking BCL leaders and activists in Kazir Dwori area in the city.
Mosharaful Haque Chowdhury Pavel told BSS that the BCL men were attacked as their procession reached in front of the BNP office. Several leaders and activists of BCL were injured in the attack.
OC Nezam Uddin said that brick-bats were hurled from the BNP office when the BCL leaders and activists were leading the procession. Later, a chase-counter chase attack took place between the two sides, he added.
Police went to the place of occurrence and brought the situation under control. Seven to eight people were injured in the incident, he added.
