DHAKA, Jan 16, 2021 (BSS) – Saif Sporting Club lost valuable points
as Old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society, came from
behind, forced Saif Sporting Club to play a 1-1 goal draw in their
opening match of Bangladesh Premier League Football held today at
Bangabandhu National Stadium here tonight.
In the day’s match, Nigerian striker John Okoli gave Saif Sporting
Club a deserving lead in the 18th minute while Ivorian forward
Lorougnon Christ Remi restored the parity for Rahmatganj in the 40th
minute of the match.
After the resumption, both the teams tried to take lead launching
attacks and counter attacks in the remaining proceeding but could not
convert any of those into a goal.
Saif Sporting Club, who finished runners-up in the recently
concluded Federation Cup Football losing to Bashundhara Kings in the
final, surrendered their lead to Rahmatganj, who played impressive
footballs all through the proceeding on the day.
Meanwhile, Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited will start their league
campaign taking on Arambagh Krira Sangha to be held tomorrow (Sunday)
at the same venue at 8 pm.
