Snake venom worth Tk 85 cr seized, 5 remanded
DHAKA, Jan 9, 2021 (BSS) – A Dhaka court has placed five people, who were arrested with snake venom worth Tk 85 crore from the capital’s Rampura area, on a three-day remand each.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury passed the order after a hearing today.
The accused are- Shafiqul Islam, Zahirul Haque, Mojibur Rahman,
Dulal and Moklesur Rahman.
Earlier, Investigation Officer (IO) of the case produced them before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court and sought for a seven-day remand for each.
According to the case, RAB-12 raided the New Bagh area of Rampura on
Friday and seized snake venom worth Tk 85 crore,
including five members of an international snake venom smuggling group .
