BCL to move forward upholding Bangabandhu’s ideology: Speaker

RANGPUR, Dec 24, 2020 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangshad Speaker Shirin Sharmin
Chaudhury today said Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) will move forward
upholding ideology of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman, the greatest Bangalee of all time.

“Far-sighted Bangabandhu formed BCL in 1948 with the spirit of
self-rights and independence of the Bangalees,” she told virtually a
workers’ meeting of BCL organised by its Pirganj upazila unit at
Pirganj upazila parishad auditorium in the district as the chief
guest.

The Speaker said the contribution of Bangladesh Chhatra League to
every level of the freedom struggle through the hands of
uncompromising Bangabandhu is undeniable.

The glorious organisation of Bangladesh Chhatra League is a place
of ideals and expectations.

“In the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman Mujib and on the eve of the golden jubilee of
independence, a committee of Bangladesh Chhatra League is being formed
today in Pirganj,” she said.

“Bangladesh Chhatra League must move forward with the flag of Mujib
ideology and strive to further strengthen the hands of Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina, the symbol of development, on the way to build a
developed Bangladesh by 2041,” she said.

The Speaker said Bangladesh Chhatra League shall never become
dependent on any quarter and always move ahead with education and
knowledge-based programmes to uphold its glorious history.

“The glorious students’ organisation BCL will compose a magnificent
new history by being immersed in its prime motto of education, peace
and progress,” she said.

With Vice-president of Rangpur district BCL Nure Alam Khushi in the
chair, its Information Technology Affairs’ Secretary Tanim Ahsan
Chapal conducted the function.

Pirganj upazila Awami League President Advocate Azizur Rahman
Sarkar Ranga and its General Secretary and Pirganj Municipal Mayor
Tazimul Islam Shamim spoke as special guests.

Acting President of Rangpur district BCL Sumon Sarkar formally
inaugurated the function while its General Secretary Rakibul Hasan
Kanan addressed the occasion as the keynote speaker.

Former BCL leaders Sarwar Jahan, Anwarul Islam Mannu, Monayem Sarkar
Manu and Sadid Jahan Saikat spoke on the occasion.
