DHAKA, Dec 22, 2020 (BSS) – Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense
Party and Bangladesh Police team moved to the final of ‘Mujib Barsho’
National Women’s Kabaddi competition eliminating their respective
rivals in the semifinals held today at Kabaddi Stadium in the city.
The final between the two teams will be held tomorrow (Wednesday)
at 7 pm at the same venue.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP, is
expected to present in the prize distribution ceremony after the final
match. Youth and Sports Secretary Akhter Hossain and National Sports
Council Secretary Mohammad Masud Karim will present there as the
special guests.
Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) president and director general
of Rapid Action Battalion Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun will preside
over the prize distribution ceremony.
Meanwhile, on way to the final today, Bangladesh Ansar beat
Faridpur district women’s kabaddi team by 58-05 points in the first
semifinal while Bangladesh Police defeated Jhenaidah district by 36-13
points in the second semis.
Organised by BKF, the competition is being held on occasion of the
birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman.
