Seminar on maritime domain awareness held
DHAKA, Dec 22, 2020 (BSS) – A daylong seminar on ‘Maritime Domain Awareness -2020’ was held at BNS ISSA Khan’s School of Maritime Warfare and Tactics (SMWT), today as part of the annual marine drill ‘Exercise Safe Guard-2020’ of Bangladesh Navy. (BN).
Rear Admiral M Mozammel Haque, Regional Commander of Chittagong Naval Area, was present as the chief guest on the occasion, said a press release.
Expansion of management by sea, use of marine resources for fuel security, proper management of fisheries use, protection of the biodiversity and environment and discussions on tackling maritime security vulnerabilities were discussed.
Representatives from Bangladesh Coast Guard, Chittagong Port Authority, Payra Port, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Marine Fisheries Academy, Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, BIWTA, Chittagong Custom House, Bangladesh Oceanography Research Institute (BORI) participated in the seminar.
Among others, high officials of Khulna Naval Zone and senior officials of different maritime organisations were present.
