Liberation war was result of long exploitation, discrimination: Murad

DHAKA, Dec 21, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Information Murad
Hasan today said that the war of liberation was the ultimate result of
a gradual mobilization of the people against long exploitation,
deprivation and discrimination.

“No nation has suddenly jumped into the great liberation war with
the whistle of a general’s flute, our war of liberation was the
ultimate result of a gradual mobilization of the people against long
exploitation, deprivation and discrimination, which we did under the
leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman ” he said.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion organized by
Bangabandhu Academy marking the Victory on December 16, at the
National Press Club auditorium this morning, said a press release.

He said, “Bangabandhu and Bangladesh are one and the same entity,
the sculpture of Bangabandhu commemorates the independence of this
beloved homeland of 56 thousand square miles, no evil power can spread
the need and appeal of this sculpture by spreading sectarianism and
hatred.”

“Bangabandhu is in the consciousness and inspiration of the nation,
rather, those who wanted to dishonor the Father of the Nation have
been thrown into the black part of history,” he added.

President of the organization Mohammad Nazmul Haque presided over
the discussion while Shahe Alam Murad, Khandaker Shamsul Haque, Kamal
Chowdhury, Lion Gani Mia Babul, journalist Manik Lal Das, Humayun
Kabir Mizi, among others, spoke.
