DHAKA, Dec 19, 2020 (BSS) -Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim today said the idiots, who vandalized the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, do not know that nothing has happened as he will remain immortal in the hearts of the country’s people forever.

“The idiots who vandalized the sculpture of Bangabandhu do not know that nothing has happened when the sculpture is demolished. They do not know that Bangabandhu is a belief, an ideal, a love. Bangabandhu is an inspiration and a power. Bangabandhu cannot be finished by breaking the sculpture. Bangabandhu will remain immortal in our consciousness, in our faith. As long as there is Bangladesh, as long as there are Bengalis, there will be Bangabandhu,” he said.

The minister was speaking as the chief guest at a view exchanging meeting with local freedom fighters and local leaders organized by the local upazila administration at the Nesarabad Upazila Parishad auditorium in Pirojpur.

Rezaul said the government with the help of all wants to build a Bangladesh in the spirit of the liberation war.

“We will not tolerate the arrogance of Razakars and communal forces in building the country which will be built being inspired of that spirit as Bangabandhu dreamt of a secular Bangladesh,” he said.

In the recent times, the ghosts of the Razakars have resurfaced to shatter that dream of Bangabandhu, he said, adding that all need a solid unity to stop these ghosts.

No one will be allowed to turn the Bangladesh into a communal one, he continued.

Nesarabad Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Mosharraf Hossain presided over the meeting while former Member of Parliament Md Shah Alam, Nesharabad Upazila Awami League President M A Hamid, local freedom fighter commanders, heroic freedom fighters and local Awami League leaders were also present there.
