JAMALPUR, Sept 23, 2017(BSS) -A boat race was held at Shyampur Amlitola
ferryghat in the river Brahmaputra in Melandaha upazila of the district on
Friday afternoon.
State Minister for Textiles and Jute Mirza Azam witnessed the boat race and
distributed prizes among the winners as chief guest.
Additional Inspector General of Police (Admin and Operation) Mokhlesur
Rahman inaugurated the boat race.
Addressing a function on the occasion, the state minister said the present
government has been implementing a massive development programme across the
country. He said the people are enjoying the benefits of the development
programme.
He called upon the people to reelect Awami League to continue the
development works.
Melandaha Upazila Awami League Vice President Abu Taher presided over the
meeting. The meeting was addressed, among others, by Faridul Haque Khan
Dulal, MP, and chairman of Jamalpur Zila Parishad, Faruk Ahmed Chowdhury.
