AL brings out jubilant processions as Padma Bridge becomes visible
DHAKA, Dec 11, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League and its associate bodies today brought out jubilant processions and distributed sweets in the capital congratulating Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as the long-cherished Padma Bridge became fully visible with the installation of its last span on Thursday.
Leaders and workers of the party and associate bodies also held brief rallies. In the rallies, the speakers said Padma Bridge has become visible defying all conspiracies and obstacles.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took the bold decision of constructing the bridge with the domestic funds. Now Bangladesh stands with head held high as the 6.15 kilometer bridge over mighty river Padma has become visible completely.
Awami Swechchhasebak League arranged a doa mahfil wishing sound health and long life of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Bangabandhu Avenue at 11am.
Organization’s President Nirmal Ranjan Guha and Afjalur Rahman Babu attended the doa mahfil.
Later, a jubilant procession was brought out from the Bangabandhu Avenue and it returned there after marching through south gate of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and Zero Point.
Dhaka City South unit of Jubo League brought out jubilant procession from Bangabandhu Avenue at 3.30pm.
Besides, Krishak League, Sramik League and other associate bodies also brought out processions separately in the capital.
Leaders and workers of Matuail Union of Awami League also brought out procession at Jatrabari intersection extending congratulations and gratitude to the premier. They also distributed sweets on the occasion.
Bangladesh Muktijoddha Projonmo Sangsad’s central command council also brought out jubilant processions in front of Jatiya Press Club.
