Mobile court fines Max Hospital Tk 10 lakh


CHATTOGRAM, July 8, 2018 (BSS) – A Mobile court here today fined Taka 10
lakh to much-talked-about Max Hospital for negligence in treatment.

The mobile court led by Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam also gave 15
days to Max Hospital authority to correct different irregularities.

RAB Executive Magistrate Sarwar Alam conducted drives at different
private hospitals and clinics in cooperation with representative from
Directorate General of Health Services in Dhaka Dr Dewan Mohammad Mehedi
Hasan, superintendent of drug administration Gulshan Jahan, RAB officials and
members of other law enforcing agencies.

Mimtanur Rahman, assistant director (media) of RAB-7, said during the
drive that began around 11 am they fined the hospital for negligence in
treatment and providing erotic pathological reports.

Sawar Alam said during the drive the mobile court found different
irregularities inside the hospital.

The magistrate said that reports from Epic Health Care, Lab Aid, Popular
Diagnostic Centre, Dr Lal Path Lab, Path Care Lab and Sigma Lab Limited were
also found at the hospital during the drive.

“People who work at the biochemistry lab are only HSC pass, but they
must have at least an undergraduate degree or special qualifications. A
hospital must have its own sample testing facilities, but they do not have
it,” he added.
