Dry weather likely

DHAKA, Nov 25, 2020 (BSS) – Weather may remain mainly dry with partly cloudy sky over the country, said a met office release here today.

Night temperature may rise slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Meanwhile, the cyclonic storm “NIVER” over Southwest Bay and adjoining area moved Westwards further and intensified into a Severe Cyclonic storm over the same area at 06 AM today, according to an alert message issued by the meteorological department.

It is likely to intensify further and move in a west-northwesterly direction.

The cyclonic storm “NIVAR” was centered at 6am today about 1720 kms Southwest of Chattogram port, 1670kms Southwest of Cox’s Bazar port, 1600kms Southwest of Mongla port and 1600 kms Southwest of Payra port.

It is likely to intensify further and move in a west-Northwesterly direction. Maximum sustained wind speed within 64ms of the severely cyclone center is about 89KMP rising to 117KMP in gusts or squalls.

Sea will remain high near the severe cyclone center. Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to watch carefully for further necessary instruction.

All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to proceed with caution.

Country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded by 30.2 degree Celsius at Teknaf and minimum temperature today was recorded by 10.6 degree celsius at Tetulia.
