Nasrul urges media to play responsible role
DHAKA, Nov 22, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid today urged journalists for playing a more responsible role to disseminate success stories of power and energy sector to the grassroots.
“We will ensure cent percent electricity coverage under grid areas by next December,” he said while exchanging views on the progress and prospects of power and energy in the context of COVID-19 with Forum for Energy Reporters, Bangladesh (FERB) at his ministry conference room.
The state minister said the journalist community can play a special role from their place in promoting this extraordinary achievement in power sector under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
“Success does not come without coordinated initiatives and efforts. If the FERB and the ministry will work together, balanced development of this sector will be accelerated,” he said.
The FERB team comprising its Chairman Arun Karmakar, Vice Chairman Mozahirul Haque Rumel, Executive Director Shamim Jahangir, Director, Lutfar Rahman Kakon, Mahfuz Mishu, Shahed Siddiqui, Serajul Islam Siraj and members – Mollah Amjad Hossain, Sadrul Hasan and Shahnaz Begum were present.
