DNCC finds Aedes mosquito larvae at 80 houses, fines Tk 3.45 lakh
DHAKA, Nov 9, 2020 (BSS) – Mobile courts run by Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) today found Aedes mosquito larvae at 80 houses and establishments and fined Taka 3.45 lakh in 18 cases filed against the owners of the establishments.
The DNCC mobile courts today visited some 13,736 houses and establishments on the seventh day of the 10-day of combing operation to destroy breeding grounds of Aedes mosquitoes for protecting city dwellers from the menace, said a press release.
The courts found stagnant water at 8,401 houses and establishments and discarded the water after spraying insecticide.
The drive was conducted between 9am and 12noon simultaneously at all 54 wards under the DNCC area.
The 10-day combing operation has been on from 9am to 12 noon every day since November 2 by dividing a ward into ten sectors and a sector into 10 sub-sectors.
