BCB announces name of 5 teams of Bangabandhu T20 Cup
DHAKA, Nov 7, 2020 (BSS)—The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced the name of the five teams of the Bangabandhu T20 Cup on Saturday.
The country’s five big companies is sponsoring the five teams which are representing five divisions –Fortune Barishal, Beximco Dhaka, Minister Group Rajshahi, Gemcon Khulna and Gazi Group Chattogram, a BCB media release said.
The player draft of the event, previously scheduled for November 11, will now be held on November 12.
Shakib and 112 other cricketers have been asked to report for fitness test which will be conducted for over two days—on November 9 and 10. The mandatory test is being conducted to determine the fitness levels of players who are expected to be in the draft for the forthcoming T20 tournament.
A total of 160 players will be allocated for the draft in four categories—A, B, C and D, confirmed BCB Cricket Operations Chairman Akram Khan.
Akram informed the BCB is planning to kick-start the tournament on November 21 or 22.
“Probably we are going to fix the Players Draft on November 12. We have made a list of 160 players. Players will undergo a fitness test on November 9 and 10,” Akram Khan said here today.
