Worship based moral education plays role in building developed nation: Hasan

DHAKA, Nov 7, 2020 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today said moral education based on religious places of worship is playing a pivotal role in building a developed nation.

The minister made the comment while addressing a workshop online on “Building humanitarian nation through moral education: role of pre-primary education project based on pagoda” from his official residence in the city’s Mintu Road.

Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust organized the workshop where representatives of the education programme on pagoda based teachers of 301 schools in 54 upazilas took part.

Hasan said childhood is the high time to build a person with a developing sense of morality, values, patriotism and affection and worship based places including pagoda plays an important role to this end.

“We achieved the independence of Bangladesh by giving blood of all- Hindu-Muslim-Buddhist-Christian and Mogh-Murung-Chakma. Our aim is to build ‘Sonar Bangla’ as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by resisting any attempt of destroying inter-communal harmony,” said Hasan, also Awami League joint general secretary.

Buddhist Religious Welfare Trust vice chairmen AL Presidium Member Ramesh Chandra Sen, MP, Aroma Datta, MP, and Supto Bhushan Barua addressed the programme with additional secretary of the Religious Affairs Ministry Dr Moazzem Hossain in the chair.

Basanti Chakma, MP, venerable Lokajit Mohathero and Islamic Foundation director general Anis Mahmud, among others, also addressed it.
