Cultural activists join hands for fighting Corona: Khalid

DHAKA, Oct 25, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Cultural Affairs K M
Khalid today said Bangladesh is an exception where doctors, nurses,
government officials, police, army members as well as artists and
cultural activists are fighting against coronavirus (COVID-19)
pandemic.

“Under the auspices of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) and the
Ministry of Cultural Affairs, artists of almost all mediums including
children, adolescents, youth, the elderly and children with special
needs have joined hands through art and culture during the corona
period which has aroused a huge response among people across the
country,” he said.

He was speaking at the inaugural function of the month-long
programme ‘Art Against Corona’ organized by BSA under the auspices of
the Ministry of Culture at Jatiyo Chitrashala Milonayoton of BSA in
the capital.

With BSA Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky in the chair, the
programme was attended by Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen.

Khalid said doctors, nurses, health workers, administration
officials, police, army personnel and other front-line fighters from
all over the world have joined the fight against coronavirus.

‘Art against Corona’ is one such exceptional initiative of
Bangladesh in the world which is playing an important role in keeping
the morale of the people of the country strong during coronavirus
pandemic, he added.

Cultural Affairs Secretary Md Badrul Arefin and Eminent artist Jamal
Ahmed also joined the programme while BSA secretary Md Nowshad Hossain
gave the welcome speech.
