DHAKA, Oct 25, 2020 (BSS)- The 16-member committee which has been formed for introducing an international award after Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the occasion of the ‘Mujib Year’ has held its first meeting online recently.
With committee convener Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair, the meeting discussed about the introduction of the international award after the name of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and other related matters regarding the award such as its naming, selection process, sector, number and prize money, a press release said here today.
The committee would further review various proposals to introduce the international award naming Father of the Nation.
As part of Mujib Year and the celebration of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu, the introduction of the international award after the name of Father of the Nation is a mentionable activity under the celebration related programmes, the release added.
The meeting was also attended by committee members former minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, Amir Hossain Amu, MP, Tofail Ahmed, MP, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq, Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, Economic Adviser to Prime Minister Dr Moshiur Rahman, Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi, State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam, MP and the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Birth Centenary Celebration National Implementation Committee Chief Coordinator Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury, among others.
