Dhaka, Oct 23, 2020 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister M Abdur Razzak today said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has established a non-communal Bangladesh following the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman wanted to build a democratic and non-communal Bangladesh on the basis of justice and equality and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, has established a non-communal Bangladesh as dreamt by him.”

“She is trying hard to eradicate the poison of communalism from all levels, including family, society, politics and state,” he added.

The Agriculture Minister said this as the chief guest at the ‘Shubh Kathin Chibar Dan and National Buddhist Conference’ organised by the Bangladesh Buddhist Federation at the International Buddhist Monastery at Merul Badda here, said a press release.

Calling upon all to be vigilant in maintaining communal harmony, the Agriculture Minister said the defeated forces of 1971, war criminals and anti-humanitarians came to power by using communalism and religion politically.

“They have always supported and nurtured communalism in the state. This evil force is still conspiring to destroy the existing communal harmony in order to seize state power by capitalizing the communalism. They have continued the conspiracy with various provocations. We must all be vigilant against this conspiracy,” he added.

Bangladesh Sangharaj Bhikku Mahasabha Upasangharaj Dr Shilananda Mohatheror presided over the programme.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister and Office Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League Barrister Biplob Barua, President of the Buddhist Federation Engineer Dibyendu Bikash Chowdhury Barua, General Secretary Bhiksh Sunandapriya, Chairman of Celebration Council Shakyapriya Barua and Secretary General Supta Bhushan Baru, among others, were present.
