Khalid visits Khulna Shilpokala Academy

KHULNA, Oct 21, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Cultural Affairs K M Khalid today visited the under construction building of Khulna Zila Shilpokala Academy at City’s Sher-e-Bangla Road area.

Later, he exchanged views with local cultural activists and journalists. Replying questions, the state minister said close circuit cameras, lift facility will be installed and security guard will be appointed very soon for ensuring security of the under construction building of district Shilpokala Academy.

Admitting demand of cultural activists, the state minister asked the authority concerned for installing microphone system and effective fire doused system at its auditorium. The Shilpokala Academy will play a vital role to enhance cultural activities in the region, he said.

Moderated by district cultural officer Sujit Kumar Saha, cultural activists Swapon Kumar Saha, Mina Mizanur Rahman, Humayun Kabir Boby, Saydur Rahman Sayeed, Freedom Fighters Alamgir Kabir, Mokbul Hossain Mintu, among others, addressed while additional commissioner Ziaur Rahman presided over the meeting.

Earlier, the state minister visited 1971: Genocide, Repression Archive Museum and Liberation War Research center and inaugurated construction works of its newly building.

Khulna City Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque, President of 1971: Genocide, Repression and Archive Museum Trust Professor Muntasir Mamun, government officials, among others, were present.
