DHAKA, Oct 20, 2020 (BSS) – The family of the daily Ittefaq’s late
photojournalist Rehena Akter has received a check for Taka five lakh
as the grant given by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim Helal handed over the
check for Taka five lakh to Rehena Akter’s mother Fazila Begum on
behalf of the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office on Monday.
After the death of journalist Rehena Akter, Prime Minister Sheikh
Hasina provided the grant to support her two daughters — Radia Islam
and Rababa Islam.
Photographer Fojit Sheikh Babu, elder brother of the late journalist
Rehena expressed his sincere gratitude to the Prime Minister for
giving the money.
He also thanked the Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim
Helal, Deputy Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Ashraful Alam
Khokan and Journalist Farzana Rupa.
Rehena’s mother said, “I will pray for them –the premier and
others concerned — five times every day in the rest of my life.”
