Housewife dies as rod falls on her from under-construction building
DHAKA, Oct 17, 2020 (BSS) – A 38-year-old housewife died after a
piece of rod fell on her head from the rooftop of a four-storey
under-construction building in city’s Mohammadpur area this afternoon,
police and hospital sources said.
The victim was Nahar Begum, wife of Anower Hossain, who used to
live in a nearby rented tinshed building at Rayerbazar Sadek Road
under Mohammadpur Police Station.
“The critically injured woman was rushed to hospital soon after the
accident . . . Doctors declared her dead in the evening,” Inspector
Bachchu Miah, the camp-in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital
(DMCH) told BSS.
The body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.
