7 militant operatives held in city

DHAKA, Oct 16, 2020 (BSS) – Anti Terrorism Unit (ATU), a
specialized unit of Bangladesh Police, today arrested seven suspected
operatives of Hizb ut- Tahrir (Bangladesh) and Ansar-Ullah Bangla Team
(ABT), the two banned militant outfits, from city’s different areas
including Norda, Bhatara, Basundhara and Gabtoli.

“A team of the ATU conducted drives in city’s different areas from
Thursday afternoon to till mid night and some 26 leaflets of online
conference and nine mobile phone sets were recovered from them,”
Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Aslam Khan of the ATU headquarters
(Media & Awareness) confirmed the news agency.

The detainees were Mohammad Sohel, 29, Noor Mohammad alias Arun
alias Noor, 30, Md Ibrahim Khaiullah, 21, Arnob Hasan, 21, Md Saifur
Rahman Babar, 30, and Nur Mohammad Shakil, 30, of the Hizb-ut-Tahrir
while and Sohel Rana alias Saidul Islam Sohel, 26 of the ABT.
