New Attorney General vows to discharge responsibility properly

DHAKA, Oct 11, 2020 (BSS) – As the chief legal officer of the state, the newly appointed Attorney General (AG) AM Amin Uddin today expressed his firm commitment to discharge his responsibilities properly.

“I will try to discharge the state responsibility properly and maintain the height of the AG office and the post where Mahbubey Alam has taken it with his efficiency and honesty,” he said while taking to journalists on his first working day at the AG office here.

Seeking cooperation from the media to stop irregularities and corruption, Amin Uddin said, “I want your cooperation. I request you, if you can help us giving information, it would be very much easier to stop corruption”.
He said as the attorney general and the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, he would try to prevent any kind of corruption.

Terming the curbing of backlog of cases as a big challenge, the new attorney general said, “Many cases remain pending creating backlog in our country. My prime challenge is to curb the backlog in the judiciary”.

Noting that he joined the law profession holding the hands of his senior lawyer Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, who breathed his last on September 27 at the age of 72, Amin Uddin urged all to pray for salvation of the departed soul.
