Khaleque asks party men to play role for curbing drug peddling

KHULNA, Oct 11, 2020 (BSS) – Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque here today asked Awami League (AL) and its front organisations leaders and activists to extend their cooperation to law enforcement agencies for curbing drug trading to ensure drug free society.

The mayor made the comment while addressing a virtual law and order monthly meeting of Khulna as the chief guest. Khulna district administration organised the meeting at the conference room of the deputy commissioner (DC) with DC Md Helal Hossain in the chair.

The city mayor also said everybody should fight to prevent coronavirus (Covid-19) like before as the pandemic of the deadly virus spread again.

He also said the Hindu devotees should maintain social guidelines and health rules set up by the government during enter and out at the Puja Mandap in different paths and use hand sanitizer or soap and masks.

Khulna divisional commissioner Dr Muhammad Anwar Hossain Howlader joined the meeting virtually while additional deputy police commissioner Sarder Rakibul Islam, police super S M Shafiullah, additional magistrate Md Yousuf Ali, civil surgeon Dr Sujat Ahmed, UNOs, upazila chairmen, among others, attended the meeting.
