Police arrest four Jamaat men in Joypurhat
JOYPURHAT, Oct 09, 2020 (BSS) – Joypurhat Thana police during a drive arrested four activists of Jamaat-e-Islami while they were holding a secret meeting at a mosque in Sadar Upazila of the district.
The detainees were identified as Sultan Hossain, 50, Amdaho Union Amir, Shah Alam, 45, Golam Azam, 48, and Aies Uddin, 54.
Officer-in-Charge of Joypurhat Thana Shahriar Khan said acting on a tip-off, they conducted a raid at a mosque at Kendul village and arrested the jamaat men as they were planning to carry out subversive activtities at the meeting.
Police also seized jihadi books and a laptop from their possession.
