4 killed in clashes in Cox’s Bazar Rohingya camp

COX’S BAZAR, Oct 6, 2020 (BSS) – At least four people have been
killed in an overnight clash between two groups of Rohingyas at the
Lombasia camp in Kutupalong of Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar, with today’s
fatalities the death total reached seven in the clashes took place in
the past three days.

“Two factions of the forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals at
Kutupalang refugee camp-1 again locked into clash at 8pm tonight,
leaving four dead”, Mohammad Shamsuddouza, additional Refugee Relief
and Repatriation Commissioner said.

He said clashes and firing incidents are continuously being held
between the two Rohingya groups for the past few days, where three
people were killed in a clash between a registered master Munna group
and another unregistered Anas-Selim group in the last two days.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately, said
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) of Cox’s Bazar
Md. Rafiqul Islam.

Police recovered three bullets hit bodies and another beheaded body
from the camp.

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh are currently deployed at the
camp. Situation is currently under control, the police official added.

Earlier, three Rohingyas were killed during clashes from October 4-5.
