Meeting on copyright held marking birth centenary of Bangabandhu

DHAKA, Sept 30, 2020 (BSS) – An online meeting on copyright of various intellectual property of the National Implementation Committee was held as part of the programmes to celebrate the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Former Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith, convener of the sub-committee on publications and literature presided over the meeting , said a press release here today.

On the occasion of Bangabandhu’s birth centenary celebration, the National Implementation Committee held the meeting to discuss in detail the need for copyright in preserving, using, marketing and promoting all the books, memorabilia, documentaries, films, music and other intellectual property.

The meeting was informed that necessary legal measures need to be taken to avoid complications regarding the ownership of these intellectual properties.

The meeting was conducted by Chief Coordinator of the National Implementation Committee Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury.

Among others, former minister and cultural figure Asaduzzaman Noor, Member Secretary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Trust Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, Senior Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Department NM Ziaul Alam, Trustee of Liberation War Museum Mofidul Hoque, Director General of Bangla Academy Habibullah Siraj, Poet Nurul Huda, Poet Tariq Sujat, Additional Secretary to the Cabinet Sheikh Rafiqul Islam, Additional Secretary to the Finance Department Satyajit Karmakar, National Director of the Book Center Minar Mansur, Director General of the Department of Film and Publications M Golam Kibria, Registrar of Bangladesh Copyright Office Zafar Raja Chowdhury, Former Registrar of Copyright Manzurur Rahman and officials of National Implementation Committee participated at the meeting.
