Three more arrested over Sylhet MC College rape incident
SYLHET, Sept 28, 2020 (BSS) – Law enforcers in separate overnight drives claimed to have arrested three more persons for their alleged involvement with the rape incident occurred in Sylhet Murari Chand (MC) College on Friday.
The arrestees are – Robiul Hasan, 25, Shah Md. Mahbubur Rahman Roni, 25 and Raj Choudhury Rajon, 28.
A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Roni from shayesthaganj and another team of police apprehended Robiul from Nobigonj upazila under Habiganj district around 10 pm last night, said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan police Jutirmoya Sarkar this morning.
Besides, another accused Rajon was detained from Kachua area of Fenchuganj upazila of Sylhet around 01.00 am last night, said officials familiar with the arrest.
Police said five accused persons have been arrested over the rape incident.
Earlier, Chhatak Thana police arrested Saifur on Sunday morning from Chhatak Khayaghat area in Sunamganj district for the same charge.
Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested another accused Arjun Lashker from Montola area under Madhobpur upazila of the district around 6am yesterday.
The victim’s husband filed a case on Saturday with Shah Poran Police Station here against six persons on charges of involving with the rape incident, its Officer-in-Charge (OC) said.
