‘Bangabandhu’s dream would not have come true without Sheikh Hasina’

DHAKA, Sept 27, 2020 – Awami League (AL) advisory council member and 14-party coordinator Amir Hossain Amu today said had Sheikh Hasina not been born Bangabandhu’s dream Sonar Bangla would not have come true.

In a video message on the occasion on the eve of 74th birthday of AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Amu wished Bangabandhu’s daughter’s prosperity, good heath and a long life, said a press release.

He said, “Through the development programmes taken up by the prime minister, Bengalis now can see what kind of Bangladesh Bangabandhu wanted.”

Regarding the student politics of Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina, he said that she, who grew up in a political arena, was elected VP of Eden College.

The active participation of Sheikh Hasina in the Hamidur Rahman 62′ Education Commission movement and the movement against the Agartala conspiracy case also inspired the students.

“By bringing Sheikh Hasina back to the country and electing her as the AL President, the people of the country have been able to stand up again for the democratic movement including protecting the AL from the ill politics of Ziaur Rahman,” he said.

“Due to the determination of Sheikh Hasina, the way has been opened up for the trial of all the killings including the trial of Bangabandhu murder, the four national leaders and the trial of war criminals,” he said adding, that “Bangladesh has been able to move away from the culture of injustice”.

In the video message, Amir Hossain Amu called upon the people to strengthen Sheikh Hasina’s hand in realizing Bangabandhu’s dream, development and progress of the country.
