JS body for monitoring, inspecting ongoing programs under women affairs ministry

DHAKA, Sept 24, 2020 (BSS) – The parliamentary standing committee on the ministry of Women and Children Affairs today recommended for proper implementation, monitoring and inspection of ongoing programs under it.

The recommendation was made at the 14th meeting of the parliamentary standing committee on the ministry of Women and Children Affairs here, said a press release.

The meeting asked the officials, who have been tasked to implement the programs, to attend the next standing committee meeting for ensuring transparency and accountability of the programs being implemented by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs in the financial year 2020-21.

The meeting recommended to the ministry to send the letter of urgency to the Prime Minister’s Office for the implementation of the Women Rehabilitation Center, it added.

The meeting also recommended to the ministry to properly list the names of the beneficiaries under various ongoing programs.

It placed recommendations before the relevant ministry to ensure regular payment of salaries and allowances to the officers and employees working in 11 day-care centers being run under the programs.

Presided over by the chairman of the committee Meher Afroz, members of the committee A.M Naimur Rahman, Begum Shabnam Jahan, Sayeda Rashida Begum and Begum Sahadara Mannan were present at the meeting.

Among others, Additional Secretary of Women and Children Affairs Ministry and JS senior officials also attended it.
