Ministers, state ministers mourn death of Ahmed Shafi
DHAKA, Sept 18, 2020 (BSS) – Condolences poured in for Amir of Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Allama Shah Ahmed Shafi, who passed away this evening at a Dhaka hospital at the age of 102.
In separate condolence messages, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque and Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md. Shahab Uddin expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death Ahmed Shafi.
They prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Besides, State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid, State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian and Religious Affairs Ministry’s Secretary Md. Nurul Islam also mourned his death.
Ahmed Shafi passed away at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital this evening. He was flown to Dhaka from Chattogram by a helicopter this afternoon as his condition deteriorated.
Earlier, Ahmed Shafi was rushed to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) on Thursday night and admitted to the ICU unit as his pressure and pulse rate decreased.
