71 journalists in Nilphamari get financial assistance from PM


NILPHAMARI, Sept 18, 2020 (BSS) – A total of 71 journalists in Nilphamari , who are having a hard time because of the coronavirus outbreak, received financial assistance from the Prime Minister.

Railways Minister Advocate Md Nurul Islam Sujon distributed the cheques among the journalists at the district Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Thursday.

Former Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor attended the event virtually as the keynote speaker.

Bangladesh Journalists Welfare Trust and Nilphamari Press Club in collaboration with the district administration organised the event.

With Deputy Commissioner Hafizur Rahman Chowdhury in the chair, the event was addressed by Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mokhlesur Rahman, District Awami League president Dewan Kamal Ahmed, general secretary Mamtazul Haque, former public welfare secretary of Dhaka Journalists Union Mehedi Hasan and senior journalist Tahmin Haque Boby.
