Govt. to impart training to overseas workers: Imran Ahmad

DHAKA, Sept 17, 2020 (BSS) – The government has taken an initiative to impart training to the overseas workers of Bangladesh to enhance their skills, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed said here today.

“The training programme initially has started for the Bangladeshi workers living in Greece ”, he said while opening the training programme on cooking through online here.

Another training programme for Bangladeshi workers living in Bahrain and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia(KSA) will start soon, Ahmed added.

Chaired by Bangladesh Ambassador in Greece Asud Ahmed, the programme was also attended by Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Secretary Dr Ahmed Munirus Salehin.

He urged the Bangladeshi overseas workers to take proper training for improving their professional excellence which would help brighten the image of the country at international level.

“There is no alternative of training to build a skilled workforce to fulfill demand of international job markets, the secretary said.

Dr Syeda Farhana Nur Chowdhury, labour wing councilor of the Bangladesh embassy in Greece, moderated the function while joint secretary of the concerned ministry Nasrin Jahan and councilor of the Embassy M Khaled, among others, joined the online programme.
