Labour Welfare Fund gets about Tk 3.5 cr
DHAKA, Sep 16, 2020 (BSS) – Labour and Welfare Fund today received about Taka 3.5 crore from two companies.
State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Munnujan Sufian received the cheques for Taka 3.5 crore from representatives of the two companies, said a press release here today.
The companies are Kazi Farms Limited (1.1crore) and Edotco Bangladesh Limited (2.49 crore).
Advisor of Kazi Farms Limited Kazi Riazul Haque and Country Managing Director of Edotco Bangladesh Limited Ricky Steyn handed over the cheques to the state minister on behalf of their companies.
Labour Welfare Fund has got a total of Taka 478 crore from 173 companies till now, the release added.
According to the labour law, if a company makes a profit of over Taka two crore, it will have to share five percent of its total profit with workers.
Among others, Secretary KM Abdus Salam and Director of Bangladesh Labour Welfare Foundation Shakila Jerin were present at the cheque distribution ceremony.
