DHAKA, Sept 16, 2020 (BSS) – Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim
today said the government is working to take the fisheries and livestock sector
forward tackling the novel coronavirus outbreak.
He said this while exchanging views with the representatives of Bangladesh
Veterinary Council in the office room of the ministry at the Secretariat, said a
press release.
The minister said, “We have taken the pace of the Ministry of Fisheries and
Livestock forward even in Corona virus pandemic. During this outbreak, various
policy-making decisions have been taken by the ministry.”
Obstacles regarding marketing, transportation and importing feed of fish and
livestock have been solved even amid the coronavirus pandemic as the ministry
monitors the entire process of livestock sector round the clock, he said.
During the meeting, Rezaul assured of taking immediate steps to solve the
manpower problem of the Veterinary Council and other issues.
He also urged the authoritiesconcerned to formulate rules for the Veterinary
Council.
