TCB starts open market onion sale in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Sept 13, 2020 (BSS) – Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has started selling of onion in open market sale in the city here today.

TCB started selling onion with ten trucks at different areas of the port city at Taka 30 per kg and other commodities in reasonable prices.

People are getting essential commodities including onion, oil, sugar and lentils at low prices from these trucks, locals said.

The lower and middle class dwellers of the city became very happy to get the onion in a comparatively very cheap price and other commodities from TCB distributors, said Jamal Uddin Ahmed, director of TCB Chattogram regional office.

He said that they are selling sugar at Taka 50 per kg, lentils at Taka 50 per kg, soybean oil at Taka 80 per liter and onion at 30 per kg.

The prices of these products are quite low compare to the local market, he added.

He said that 600 kgs of sugar, 500 kgs of lentils and 700 liters of soybean oil, 200 kgs of onion are being taken in each truck every day.

TCB will continue the activities till declining the price of onion in tolerable level, he added.
