Stocks continue flying

DHAKA, Sept 13, 2020 (BSS) – Country’s both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) continued soaring with turnover as the investors are getting back confidence due to regulatory moves.

At the prime bourse, DSE’s key index soared further today which is the highest in more than a year since August 29, 2019.

The broad index, DSEX settled at 5094.05 points on Sunday, first working day of week, with a huge gain of 82.76 points or 1.65 percent.

Besides, two selective indices, Blue Chip index, DSE30 and Shariah index, DSES also went up by 16.65 points and 12.13 points to settle at 1756.88 points and 1170.66 points respectively.

On the DSE trading floor, a total number of 254,813 trades were executed in today’s trading session with a trading volume of 531.05 million securities.

On the other hand, DSE’s turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, stood at Taka 13.29 billion from Taka 10.24 billion in the previous session.

Gainers took lead over losers as out of 357 issues traded, 226 securities gained price while 106 declined and 25 remained unchanged.

The market-cap of DSE increased to Taka 3,846 billion which was Taka 3,789 billion in the previous session.

The top 10 gainers were City Bank, Tasrifa Industries, Orion infusion, AB Bank, Fareast Knitting, Agrani Insurance, Pravati Insurance, Rupali Bank, Khulna Printing and Fu-Wang ceramic.

Beximco Pharma topped the turnover chart followed by Beximco Limited, IFIC Bank, Brac Bank, Orion Pharma, Orion Infusion, City Bank, United Power, Delta Brac Housing and Express Insurance.

The top ten losers were Hakkani Pulp, Dulamia Cotton, CAPM BDBL Mutual Fund, Anwar Galvanizing, Miracle Industries, Bangos Limited, GPH Ishpat, Pragati Life Insurance, Information Services Network and Daffodil Computer.

On the other hand, port city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed trading at green extending the gaining streak of previous day.

CSCX and CASPI rose by 133.78 points and 239.41 points to stand at 8736.37 points and 14534.51 points respectively.

At CSE, a total of 24,627,175 share and mutual funds of 287 companies were traded, of which 177 issues advanced while 85 declined and 25 issues remained unchanged.
