DHAKA, Sept 7, 2020 (BSS) – State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury today said Benapole land port will be made more passenger-friendly with infrastructural development and ensuring modern facilities for passengers.
“Benapole land-port will be made more passenger-friendly. Enhancement of passenger services and infrastructural development will get priority,” he told a meeting on administrative, financial and development activities of Bangladesh Land Port Authority at the ministry’s conference room here.
Now the capability of land port authority has enhanced, he said, adding that the ports’ should work with the aim to increase their income by ensuring better services.
Khalid gave directives to the authorities concerned to ensure adequate fire extinguishing measures at land ports and suggested considering the matter of establishing fire stations at important ports.
Shipping Secretary Mohammed Mezbah Uddin Chowdhury and Bangladesh Land Port Authority Chairman K. M. Tariqul Islam were present in the meeting, among others.
