COX’S BAZAR, Sept 6, 2020 (BSS)-Four suspended policemen were placed on a four-day remand in the second phase today for interrogation in a case filed over the murder of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.

A team of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) took the police personnel in their custody from Cox’s Bazar district jail around 11am for further questioning.

The four policemen are assistant sub-inspector Liton Miah and constables – Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain and Abdullah Al Mamun.

“The four accused policemen were put on four-day remand each by a court on August 24 and RAB today took them into their custody for interrogation,” said Khairul Islam, senior assistant superintendent of police, who is also the investigation officer of the case.

On August 12, a Cox’s Bazar court placed the four policemen on seven-day remand each in connection with the same case.
