Key accused of UNO attack case handed over to DB
DHAKA, Sept 06, 2020 (BSS) –The key accused in the Ghoraghat UNO attack case was handed over to the Detective Branch (DB) of police in Dinajpur Saturday night.
“Asadul Islam, prime accused in the case of attack on Ghoraghat Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Wahida Khanam and her father Omar Ali, has been handed over to the DB police here,” the investigation officer(IO) of the case and the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dinajpur Md Imam Zafor told BSS this afternoon.
Asadul was arrested by joint force – Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police – on Friday morning from Hilly. Subsequently on Saturday, he was handed over to the DB for quizzing about the attack on UNO and her father.
Wahida Khanam and her father were severely injured in an attack by some unknown miscreants at her government residence in the early hours of Thursday.
