Appellate Division’s two new judges pay homage to Bangabandhu

DHAKA, Sept 5, 2020 (BSS) – The newly appointed two judges of
Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC), Justice Tariq ul Hakim
and Justice Obaidul Hasan, have paid homage to Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing a wreath at his portrait
on Bangabandhu Museum premises at Dhanmondi 32 in the city.

Later, they paid tributes to Liberation War martyrs by placing a
wreath at the National Memorial at the city’s outskirts Savar, SC
spokesperson and special officer Mohammad Saifur Rahman told BSS
today.

On September 2, President Md Abdul Hamid appointed the two judges as
per the power conferred by Article 95 (1) of the Constitution while
they took oath on September 3.

With the new appointments, the number of judges at the Appellate
Division stood at eight.
