Probe panel interrogates Pradip in Cox’s Bazar jail
COX’S BAZAR, Sept 2, 2020 (BSS) – The probe committee, formed by the home ministry, today interrogated suspended Teknaf Thana OC Pradip Kumar Das in connection with the killing of major (rtd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan in Cox’s Bazar jail here today.
The members of the probe panel led by its head Chattogram additional divisional commissioner Mohammad Mizanur Rahman reached the Cox’s Bazar District Jail at around 10:45 am and came out at around 5pm after interrogating Pradip, said jail super Md Mozammel Hossain.
“We have interrogated Pradip Kumar Das for a long time . . . we are examining his today’s information and the one which we got earlier. We are hopeful about submitting the report within the stipulated time,” probe panel head Mohammad Mizanur told journalists.
He said the probe panel has a deadline of submitting the report within September 7.
Pradip was sent to jail yesterday after the end of his 15-day remand.
On July 31, Sinha was shot dead allegedly by a police officer at the checkpoint on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive.
Sinha’s sister Sharmin Shahria Ferdous filed a case against nine policemen on August 5.
