Three get death penalty for rape in Rajbari
RAJBARI, Sept 02, 2020 (BSS) –Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunalhere today sentenced three people to death in a gang-rape case.
Judge of the tribunal Sharmin Nigar pronounced the verdict against Rana Mollah, son of late Abul Mollah of Majlispur village in Rajbari Sadar upazila and Mamun Mollah, son of Arshad Mollah and Hannan Sardar, son of late Monnaf Sardar of Khankhanapur village.
According to the case, the victim was gang-raped by the trio near Basantapur area on her way to village residence on February 23, 2016.
On the next day, members of RAB-8 Faridpur camp raided and arrested three accused following the statement of the victim.
The victim also filed a case against the three along with other four unidentified persons withRajbari Sadar Police Station.
The remaining accused in the case were acquitted as crime against them was not proved.
