Tokyo stocks open higher on cheap yen, US rallies
TOKYO, Aug 28, 2020 (BSS/AFP) – Tokyo stocks opened higher on Friday helped
by a cheaper yen against the dollar and US rallies after the Federal Reserve
chief’s comments on allowing inflation to rise above two percent.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index was up 0.24 percent or 56.42 points at
23,265.28 in early trade, while the broader Topix index gained 0.48 percent
or 7.83 points to 1,623.72.
