Rezaul inaugurates quality control lab for animal feed
DHAKA, Aug 27, 2020 (BSS) – Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim today inaugurated an animal feed quality control laboratory and international quality standard livestock production equipment at Savar.
The inaugural function of the lab was organized by the Department of Livestock.
State Minister for Disaster Management and Relief Dr. Md. Enamur Rahman and State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Zahid Ahsan Russell attended the function as special guests.
Rezaul said, “The country lacks world standard animal feed quality control laboratory… for this the livestock sector face difficulties for exporting livestock and animal products.”
By setting up such high quality laboratory, the government will be able to export livestock products and earn foreign currency, he added.
At the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the lab has been set up in the country, Rezaul said, adding the government is giving highest emphasis on maintaining international standard of all export products.
He also said, “In this laboratory, we will be able to test whether the meat, milk and eggs are produced in a scientific manner. We have to maintain quality of all export products. ”
Among others, Fisheries and Livestock secretary Rawnak Mahmud, Director General of Fisheries Department Dr. Abdul Jabbar Shikder and Laboratory project Director Md. Mostafa Kamal also took part at the discussion.
