China provides 14,280 masks to BDRCS
DHAKA, Aug 27, 2020 (BSS) – The authority of Yunnan Province has provided 14,280 surgical masks to Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) as part of the Chinese support to Bangladesh combating against COVID-19 pandemic.
Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming handed over the supply to BDRCS chairman Hafiz Ahmed Mazumdar, MP, at Chinese embassy here today, a release said here.
During the ceremony, the Chinese envoy lauded BDRCS role in fighting pandemic and flood and said his country would continue to support such organisations to overcome the difficult times.
BDRCS chairman thanked the Yunnan Province for the supply and wished a further deeper cooperation with China.
Last December, Chinese Red Cross Society of China (RCSC) Chairman Chen Zhu visited Cox’s Bazar and BDRCS’s Holy Family Hospital in Dhaka while a high level delegation of BDRCS visited Kunming, capital of Yunnan province in January this year.
BDRCS Vice Chairman Prof. Dr. Md. Habibe Millat, MP, Secretary General Md. Feroz Salah Uddin and Treasurer Lutfur Rahman Chowdhury Helal also attended the handover ceremony.
